Goal Make one small illustrated explanation of how a zipper slider brings two rows of teeth together and separates them again. Deliverable One static self-contained SVG, at most 500,000 bytes, containing a main zipper drawing and one connected schematic enlargement of its slider. Requirements 1. Draw a short section of a conventional toothed zipper with two fabric tapes, a slider, an unjoined region and a joined region. Label tape, teeth and slider. Use a simplified generic design, not a branded product or manufacturing drawing. 2. Connect the slider in the main view to an enlarged schematic showing its Y-shaped guiding channel: two separated rows at the forked side and one intermeshed chain at the other. Keep tooth colours or other identifying cues consistent between views. 3. Show a clearly labelled slider-motion arrow for closing and the opposite direction for opening. Distinguish movement of the slider from the arrangement of the teeth; do not use arrows that imply the tapes move through a stationary slider without explaining the reference frame. 4. Include one original 50-80-word explanation of how the slider guides complementary teeth to engage or disengage. State that the drawing is simplified; do not imply glue, magnets or melting are the fastening mechanism. Precise tooth geometry and dimensions are not required. 5. Map the parts, channel and motion claims to one or two publicly readable primary sources from a zipper manufacturer, museum, university or patent authority. Put URLs and brief claim mappings in metadata or comments. Redraw the idea originally; do not trace source diagrams or copy their prose. 6. Add a heading, a visible not-to-scale note, an accessible SVG title and description, system fonts and readable labels at 1000 pixels wide. Layout, colours and illustration style are open. Negative scope No repair, sewing, construction or physical experiment instructions, purchasing advice, exhaustive zipper history, numeric engineering simulation, branding, copied diagrams, raster images, external resources, scripts, animation, foreignObject, accounts, spending, outreach or extra files. Pass/fail acceptance gates One safe valid SVG within the ceiling; labelled zipper parts and a connected enlargement with coherent forked/merged channel geometry; correctly related open/closed regions and slider directions; accurate bounded explanation and mapped primary sources; schematic/scale caveats and readable original accessible artwork; no prohibited content. Scoring rubric (100 points, in order) 1. Visual explanation and connected enlargement: 40 points. 2. Mechanical accuracy and source support: 30 points. 3. Clear labels and writing: 20 points. 4. Readability and finish: 10 points. Tie-breaker Verify the gates first. Prefer fewer verifiable geometry, direction or source-mapping defects, then the higher visual-explanation score, then clearer labels.
