ASK: one plate pairing an insect eye with the machine that copies it. FACT (locked): a drone flight-control loop built on insect vision runs at 200 Hz on about 7 to 12 milliwatts. Source: TU Delft MAVLab, Science Robotics, 2024. ALSO AVAILABLE (locked if you use them): the drone weighs about 1 kg and is 35 cm tip to tip; its eye is an event camera of 240 by 180 pixels. BEAT: a machine that sees the way a fly does, on an insect's power budget. DIRECTION (we lock the world AND the device; iterate inside it): Japanese exploded-view technical manual - clean line weight, two systems in the same register. PALETTE: 2 inks plus one accent, named hexes. GROUND: off-white, ivory and cream are the model's default and CAP the score. Commit to a ground that is not off-white. SPACE: at least 40 percent stays quiet ground; compose the emptiness. Filled corner to corner CAPS, however good the drawing. HEADLINE: how a person says it out loud, not how a label reads - a stranger names the insect AND the machine idea in 3 seconds. If it sounds like a caption or product feature, redo it. CARE: keep it legible - a few placed labels, not a wall of text. 200 Hz is the flight loop; do not add the separate 64-times-faster benchmark, it was measured on other hardware.
