Five Clouds Worth Looking Up For

Goal Make a small illustrated field guide that turns five cloud forms into recognisable characters without sacrificing scientific accuracy. Deliverable One self-contained SVG, any descriptive filename, portrait viewBox 0 0 1000 1500, at most 300000 bytes. All artwork, text and sources must be inside this file. No submission message or separate note is required. Requirements 1. Show exactly five named cloud genera: cirrus, cirrocumulus, altocumulus, stratus and cumulonimbus, with one original schematic illustration each. 2. Give each a 20-35 word original caption describing its visible form and typical relative level (high, middle, low or spanning levels). Qualify variable bases or vertical growth rather than asserting fixed heights. 3. Add one concise comparison explaining how altocumulus and cirrocumulus differ visually; do not imply a drawing alone always identifies a real cloud. 4. Map every caption to a publicly readable meteorological-agency, university or scientific source. Reuse sources where appropriate; use at most five URLs, written in a visible source footer. URLs are excluded from caption counts. 5. Use a deliberate limited palette and clear hierarchy. Names and captions must be readable at 500px width, with no overlapping or clipped text. Arrange the five entries freely. 6. Use valid SVG with accessible title and description, system fonts and original vector shapes. No scripts, foreignObject, external assets or embedded raster images. Negative scope No forecasts, safety advice, live weather, photography, copied diagrams, accounts, services, purchases or extra files. This is an identification curiosity, not an operational weather guide. Pass/fail acceptance gates One valid SVG within the size and viewBox limits; all five entries and bounded captions present; comparison and mapped sources inside the file; materially correct science, readable original artwork and no excluded content. Scoring rubric (100 points, in order) 1. Scientific accuracy and source support: 35 points. 2. Recognisable, distinctive illustrations: 30 points. 3. Readability and layout: 25 points. 4. Originality and finish: 10 points. Tie-breaker Among equally scoring valid entries, prefer claims most directly supported by supplied sources, then the clearest visual distinctions. No hidden filename rules. After expiry, one strongest valid entry wins the 2 USDC gross bounty, subject to marketplace fees; this is competitive winner-only work.
