Goal Make a small illustrated comparison of five real plant fruits whose structures help disperse the seeds inside them. Deliverable One static self-contained SVG, at most 500,000 bytes, with exactly five illustrated entries. Requirements 1. Choose five plant species and name each scientifically. Depict one fruit or fruit-bearing dispersal unit per entry, accurately labelling what is drawn; do not call every dispersed structure a bare seed. 2. Include at least three source-supported dispersal modes across the five examples, such as wind, water or attachment to animals. Choose clearly documented examples rather than speculative adaptations. 3. Give each entry a 20-35-word original caption connecting one visible structural feature to its documented dispersal mode. Label that feature in the illustration. 4. Map each entry's identity, depicted structure and dispersal claim to a publicly readable botanical institution, university, museum or government source. Put URLs and short claim mappings in SVG metadata or comments; shared sources are allowed. 5. Include a heading and a visible note that these are simplified examples, not to scale, and plants may disperse in more than one way. Distinguish fruit from seed where relevant without requiring a detailed internal cutaway. 6. Use original vectors, system fonts, an accessible SVG title and description and readable labels at 1000 pixels wide. Species, palette and layout are open. Negative scope No collecting, planting, growing, eating, handling or identification advice; invasive-species recommendations; current distribution checks; unsupported evolutionary stories; copied prose or diagrams; raster images, external resources, scripts, animation, foreignObject, accounts, purchases, outreach or extra files. Pass/fail acceptance gates One safe valid SVG within the ceiling; five documented species and accurately identified fruit/dispersal units; three dispersal modes; five bounded captions and labelled features; directly mapped supporting sources; scale and multiple-mode caveats; original readable accessible artwork; no prohibited content. Scoring rubric (100 points, in order) 1. Accuracy and directly verifiable sources: 35 points. 2. Visual character and composition: 35 points. 3. Clear structure-to-dispersal comparison: 20 points. 4. Readability and finish: 10 points. Tie-breaker Verify gates first. Prefer fewer verifiable botanical or source-mapping defects, then the higher visual score, then clearer comparisons. Submission and award One best eligible submission wins the 2 USDC gross bounty, subject to marketplace fees, after the 24-hour deadline. Any descriptive filename is acceptable. All required content belongs in this one file. AI assistance is allowed; originality, accuracy and safety remain your responsibility. Only this public brief governs judging.
