Make a blueprint diptych: two technical drawings, side by side, that only make sense together, so that removing either one destroys the meaning of the other. One still image containing both panels, 3:2 landscape, briefed for a GPT Image 2 class model, whose real ratio list is 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9, 9:16, 3:2 and 2:3. The discipline of this family is restraint: it is a working drawing, not an illustration, and the argument is carried by what changes between the panels. FACT (locked, build on it, do not re-research): a paper called The piezochiral effect was published in Nature on 29 July 2026 by researchers at the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter in Hamburg and the University of Oxford, with Andrea Cavalleri leading the work in Hamburg in collaboration with Paolo Radaelli at Oxford. Chirality means handedness: an object is chiral when it cannot be laid on top of its own mirror image, the way your left hand cannot lie on your right. The finding is that squeezing or stretching a crystal along one axis can make chirality appear in a crystal that had none. It works in a broad class of crystals that already contain fragments of opposite handedness inside each repeating unit, cancelling each other out. Strain breaks the cancellation. Which handedness you get can be tuned, either by changing the direction of the strain or by switching between compressive strain, which is squeezing, and tensile strain, which is stretching. The team verified the effect experimentally in a crystal called AgGaS2 by measuring optical activity under strain, set out a theoretical framework for when a crystal's symmetry allows the effect, and released an open database of candidate materials. The effect is named as a new member of a family that already includes piezoelectricity, where squeezing a crystal produces a voltage, and piezomagnetism. Use this exactly and leave out anything we have not locked. SCOPE. Photonics, spintronics, biosensing and quantum information are stated as possible future applications, not as things that exist, so do not draw a device, a product or a chip and do not imply one. Do not print a strain value, a temperature, a wavelength, an angle, a number of materials in the database, a DOI or an arXiv number, because none is locked. Do not draw a specific atomic arrangement for AgGaS2, because you cannot verify it and a wrong lattice is the one error this family cannot survive. Draw the handedness argument with a generic repeating unit and say so. The effect is SCOPED: it works in crystals that already carry opposite-handed fragments inside each repeating unit, so do not print or imply that squeezing any crystal does this. COMPRESSION is the case you draw. Tension is mentioned in a label if at all, and never given its own panel. Do not render any institutional crest, logo, seal or wordmark, and do not print any named researcher's name or likeness on the piece. GROUND (decide this, do not let the model default): two panels of aged linen-backed drafting cloth in a warm bone colour, with the weave and the folds visible, printed in one dense violet ink. Blueprint blue is the default this brief FAILS on, and yes, that is the obvious choice for a family called a blueprint diptych, which is exactly why it is banned here. Also failing: the black terminal with green monospace, the white physics-textbook page, the glowing holographic crystal, and any neon. LIGHT: none. This is flat printed ink on cloth, and any sense of form has to come from hatching, section lines and overprinting. If you can see a light source, you have made the wrong picture. DISTANCE: both panels whole and equal, seen straight on, with the drafting cloth's edge visible so a stranger knows it is a physical sheet. FLOOR (hard, this is the material standard): made with a real frontier image model, GPT Image 2 class or better. Flat vector, hand drawn SVG or HTML, and screenshot collage all FAIL. Stock, archive and library imagery FAILS. Text belongs to the artwork: type is printed in the same ink, on the same material, with the same weave, bleed and registration as the drawing, never bolted on after, and it carries no shading of its own. Submit your files individually; zipped or otherwise archived submissions will not be considered. CRAFT STANDARD (read all of it before you start). Composition: one clear focal a stranger finds in under 3 seconds, then a second layer that rewards a longer look. Legibility: this is judged first as a thumbnail on a phone, so the headline must survive at that size, and any label too small to read there should not exist. Palette: pick 2 or 3 inks and hold them. A piece with 8 colours reads as a template. Labelling: every label points at something real in the image, no floating decoration. Finish: real material behaviour carried consistently across the whole frame, including the type. DIRECTION is yours. FOCAL: the moment of choosing. A stranger has to see that the left panel is balanced and undecided, that something is applied, and that the right panel has picked a side, without knowing any physics at all. YOUR CALL: what carries the strain between the panels. Arrows are the obvious grammar and are allowed. A dimension line that has shortened, a cell drawn visibly compressed, or the two panels printed at slightly different widths so the sheet itself is squeezed, are all stronger if you can hold them. Also yours: whether hands appear as the everyday explanation of handedness. If they do, they are drawn in the same violet ink as everything else, as anatomical line work, never photographic. SURPRISE ME: the obvious take caps your score, the boldest true take wins. The obvious take is two mirrored molecules floating with a mirror line down the middle. JUDGED on wow, then subject, surprise, taste, craft, material. A diptych that teaches a stranger what handedness is beats a prettier one that assumes they already know. NOT THIS: no glowing crystal, no laser beams, no quantum-computer chandelier, no circuit board, no chrome, no lens flare, no swirling energy, no laboratory scientist, no pair of literal photographed human hands lit like a stock photo. No mirror ball. TEXT BUDGET: one headline that states the takeaway and names the subject, plus up to 6 small drawing labels, which this family earns, but only if every one stays legible at phone size. NOTHING ABOUT HOW THE PIECE WAS MADE GOES ON THE PIECE: no process notes, no verification lines, no model or tool credit, no house credit, no timing or deadline text. Do not render this brief's section labels (FACT, SCOPE, FLOOR, GROUND, FOCAL, NOT THIS and the rest) or the NOT THIS list as type on the piece. Credit your model in the submission text instead. DELIVER: one finished hero image at 3:2 containing both panels, plus concept-note.md and sources.md. The IMAGE itself must be self contained, with no URLs, QR codes or watermarks rendered on it; put your source links in sources.md. Name your model in the submission text.
