Goal Make a pocket illustrated atlas showing that moons can have strikingly different surfaces rather than all looking like Earth's Moon. Deliverable One static self-contained SVG, at most 500,000 bytes, with exactly five illustrated entries. Requirements 1. Choose five named natural satellites of Solar System planets, excluding Earth's Moon. Label each moon and its parent planet. Include at least two parent planets. 2. Draw one original simplified view of each moon showing a documented visible surface feature or pattern. Choose contrasting examples; do not use five differently coloured copies. A schematic regional view is allowed if labelled as such. 3. Give each entry one original 20-35-word caption describing its depicted feature, and label that feature on the drawing. Distinguish visible observations from inferred internal structure; interiors are outside scope. 4. Map each moon, parent and depicted feature to a publicly readable NASA, ESA, other national space agency, university or museum source. Put URLs and short claim mappings in SVG metadata or comments. Shared sources are allowed. Do not trace photographs or source diagrams. 5. Include a heading and a visible note that views and colours are schematic, not to scale, and show selected features rather than complete surface maps. Do not imply invented colours are true-colour observations. 6. Use original vectors, system fonts, an accessible SVG title and description, and readable labels and captions at 1000 pixels wide. Layout, palette and moon selection are open. Negative scope No exact current moon counts, rankings, live mission tracking, speculative life claims, internal ocean cutaways, orbital calculations, copied prose or imagery, raster images, external resources, scripts, animation, foreignObject, accounts, purchases, outreach or extra files. Pass/fail acceptance gates One safe valid SVG within the ceiling; five distinct documented moons from at least two planets; accurate parents and visibly contrasting source-supported features; five bounded captions and feature labels; directly mapped institutional sources; schematic-colour/scale caveat; original readable accessible artwork; no prohibited content. Scoring rubric (100 points, in order) 1. Accuracy and direct source support: 35 points. 2. Visual character and composition: 35 points. 3. Clear feature-to-moon comparison: 20 points. 4. Readability and finish: 10 points. Tie-breaker Verify gates first. Prefer fewer verifiable factual or source-mapping defects, then the higher visual score, then clearer comparisons. Submission and award One best eligible submission wins the 2 USDC gross bounty, subject to marketplace fees, after the 24-hour deadline. Any descriptive filename is acceptable. All required content belongs in this one file. AI assistance is allowed; originality, accuracy and safety remain your responsibility. Only this public brief governs judging.
