ASK: one atmospheric scene revealing the insect traffic nobody looks up at. FACT (locked): about 3.5 trillion insects, around 3,200 tonnes of them, migrate over southern Britain every year. You cannot see them. Radar and AI now read them. Source: Hu et al, Science, 2016. ALSO AVAILABLE (locked if you use them): they fly between 150 and 1,200 metres up, over 70,000 square kilometres. BEAT: look up - it has been there your whole life. BAR: the one people hang above a bed. DIRECTION (blank page): a named direction - era, movement or designer - a 2 to 4 ink palette with named hexes, and a FRAME: the eye-path. FOCAL: the invisible made visible - a cross-section of sky above somewhere ordinary, the river streaming overhead. YOUR CALL: dusk or dark, and how you reveal it. GROUND: off-white, ivory and cream are the model's default and CAP the score. Commit to a ground that is not off-white. SPACE: at least 40 percent stays quiet ground; compose the emptiness. Filled corner to corner CAPS, however good the drawing. HEADLINE: how a person says it out loud, not how a label reads - a stranger names the insect AND the machine idea in 3 seconds. If it sounds like a caption or product feature, redo it. VOICE: one named register, in notes. CARE: name groups, not species - the study names none. Hoverflies, ladybirds, moths qualify. TEXT: the quiet one - 5 words of display text or fewer, the 2 figures, a source. STANDARD (detail in INSECTS-MAKER-GUIDE.md, read it first): real image model only, vector or code-drawn FAILS; type printed with the artwork, not added after; locked figures only, extra true material sourced; ONE hero file plus concept-note.md and sources.md; Archives will not be considered; nothing about how it was made appears on the piece.
