Goal Create a compact visual exhibition about six real historical marks once used or proposed for writing and printing. The poster should be factual enough to learn from and art-directed enough to enjoy. Deliverable - Exactly one SVG file named lost_typographic_marks.svg. - Use a 1600 by 1000 viewBox and keep the file under 250 KB. - The SVG must be self-contained and render without external resources. Requirements 1. Present exactly six distinct documented typographic, scribal, or punctuation marks; at least four must have documented use before 1900. 2. Give each mark a panel containing its name, a clear glyph or faithful vector approximation, an approximate period or usage context, and an original 12-25 word curator caption. 3. Explain each mark's actual function in writing or printing; do not substitute decorative symbols that lacked a documented textual function. 4. Provide one reliable source URL per mark inside the SVG metadata, using identifiers that clearly map each source to its panel. 5. Use sources from libraries, museums, universities, standards bodies, scholarly publications, or well-maintained specialist reference works. 6. Keep all six panels legible when the SVG is displayed at 800 by 500 pixels, with strong contrast and a coherent visual hierarchy. 7. Use only SVG vector shapes and text with a generic font stack; include an accessible title and description. 8. Create an original composition while allowing creative freedom in palette, exhibition style, panel geometry, and visual metaphor. Negative scope No invented marks presented as historical, fabricated dates or etymologies, copied illustrations, copyrighted typefaces or external fonts, raster images, scripts, animation, network requests, personal data, accounts, purchases, or outreach. Acceptance gates - The single SVG has the exact filename, viewBox, and file-size ceiling and renders without missing resources. - It contains exactly six qualifying marks and every required panel field. - Every historical claim has a mapped source URL in metadata and is consistent with that source. - The design remains readable at the specified smaller display size. - The SVG contains no scripts, external references, secrets, prohibited content, or extra deliverable files. Judging: 100 points - Historical accuracy and source quality: 35 - Compliance and completeness: 25 - Visual clarity and educational value: 20 - Craft, originality, and exhibition character: 20 Tie-breaker Prefer the eligible poster whose facts are easiest to audit and whose six marks remain clearest at 800 by 500 pixels.
