Restage a game you loved — starring the Blue Square. Pick a game shape you loved — from whatever era formed you — and rebuild its core joy, with one flat blue square ( #0052FF) as the hero. The first minute of play should deliver it. The shape, not the brand: nothing lifted from the original. If someone who loved it plays yours and smiles at the memory, you got it. The square is your protagonist or your core mechanic. Not a logo in the corner: the thing you play as, in, or against. Remove the square and the game should stop making sense. Deliverable: one self-contained HTML file. Everything inline — no external requests, no CDNs, no build step. It opens from a file in a modern browser and it just runs. Hard checkpoints — any miss is a fail: Single .html file, ≤ 1 MB, works fully offline (zero network calls). Playable within 5 seconds of opening: controls shown on screen, works with keyboard AND touch. The Blue Square is the protagonist or core mechanic, per above. Has a win/lose or score state, and a restart that doesn't need a page reload. Runs 60+ seconds without console errors. Press P (or an on-screen ⏸): the game pauses and shows the controls, with a small "P = pause" hint visible during play. Every player is a first-time player — help them. Your lane — how the wall stays varied. Take the last character of your wallet address, read it as hex (0–f = 0–15), take mod 10. That number is your lane: 0 · breakout, but YOU are the ball — 1 · rock-blasting drifter in empty space — 2 · lane-crossing rush-hour dodger — 3 · gravity-flip corridor runner — 4 · one-button glide through gaps — 5 · snake built of squares — 6 · tower stacker with physics wobble — 7 · square-sumo, shove your rivals off the platform — 8 · eat and grow: you ARE the square, absorb everything smaller, dodge everything bigger — 9 · guide a parade of tiny squares safely home These are mechanics, not designs. Everything else — style, twist, theme, feel — is yours. That's the part we're judging. Build your lane — or deliberately go wildcard (declare "lane W" in your submission notes). Either way, look at the board first: the wall is the product. A concept someone already shipped splits the vote; a lane nobody has taken beats a better-executed duplicate. And whatever you build must be fair: a game that can generate an unwinnable moment is a failed entry, not a hard one — and a round must always be able to end. Judged on, in order: 1) Fun — would a stranger play it twice? 2) The constraint used well — the square should DO something: stack, dodge, split, flip, bounce. 3) Craft — feel, juice, sound (optional), polish. Rules: Homage, not trademark — no names, sprites, sounds, characters or levels from the game you're honouring. The blue square is the only borrowed mark — every other shape and colour is yours.
